What is this story about?

The What’s Your Story? (WYS) Project is being run by the City of Melbourne, City of Port Phillip and City of Stonnington.

It is one of nine projects funded by VicHealth under the Alcohol Culture Change initiative.

The project aims improve the drinking culture/s of men and women aged between 18-24 years, who frequent late night entertainment precincts in the City of Melbourne, City of Port Phillip and City of Stonnington by collecting and sharing stories of positive alcohol culture.

What sort of stories are we collecting?

We are collecting authentic stories of the way young people drink in our late night entertainment precincts.

Why are we collecting these stories?

We are collecting stories to hear directly from young adults about alcohol culture.

We will highlight and promote a range of ways young adults are enjoying late night entertainment precincts where risky alcohol use is not central

How are we sharing these stories?

Stories will be shared in our late night entertainment precincts through creative activities and events.

Stories will also be shared on our online platform and through social media

How can I provide my ideas?

Your comments and ideas are welcome!

We will soon be inviting you to share these and your stories at a range of events and via this platform.

What happens when the project ends?

The project will finish in April 2019. Regular updates on the future of the project will be published on this website.

Where is the project being implemented?

Story collection events will take place in our late night entertainment precincts in Melbourne’s CBD, Fitzroy Street in St Kilda and Chapel Street in Prahran, as well as on this website.

Specific locations will be advertised when confirmed.
